Tips
Apply thread tape to male end of threaded fittings (see thread tape instructions below)
Tighten fitting using multi grips (or similar)
Tips for applying thread tape
Clean the male thread
Place the end of the thread tape on the second thread from the end and hold it in place with a finger or thumb
Begin wrapping the tape around the thread in the opposite direction to which the fitting will be installed
Maintain tension on the tape so it wraps nicely around the thread. Work away from the end of the fitting, overlapping the tape as you go
Complete the wrap at least six times around the thread, finishing near the end of the thread
Break the tape from the roll by gripping it between thumb and forefinger and pulling sharply. Smooth the tape end down over the thread
